Augusta teen identified as victim in weekend shooting death
Photo and article from the Augusta Press: An Augusta teen has been identified as the victim in Saturday’s fatal shooting inside The Pointe at Augusta apartments on Acapulco Drive.
Elijah Oliver, 19, succumbed to his injuries after being shot at least once in the parking lot of the 2400 block of Acapulco Drive, Coroner Mark Bowen said.
The incident unfolded shortly before 12:46 a.m. Saturday when the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of gunfire in the area. Upon arrival, officers discovered Oliver, a resident of Augusta, critically injured from gunshot wounds.
Emergency Medical Services rushed Oliver to Wellstar / MCG ER for urgent medical care, but unfortunately, he was pronounced dead at 1:23 a.m. Saturday.

The Augusta Press reports: Three local teens have been arrested in Saturday’s fatal shooting at The Pointe at Augusta when the victim got caught in the middle of a gunfight.
Nasceir Damiano Mitchell, 18; Devin Anthony Garnett, 19, and Terrell Miller, 16, have been arrested in the killing of 19-year-old Elijah Oliver. The suspects are each charged with murder and weapon possession.
Warrants say that the trio were engaged in a shootout early Saturday at the Pointe at Augusta Apartments when the crossfire caused the victim to sustain a gunshot wound to his upper torso. Oliver was rushed to Wellstar MCH Health, where he was pronounced dead.

The Pointe at Augusta Apartments Alleged Sexual Assault
AUGUSTA NEWS CHANNEL 6 (WJBF) REPORTS – The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office arrested a maintenance man at an Augusta apartment complex for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman living there with her young children.
Reports state Ellis Bell III went inside the victim’s home June 6th to repair her A/C unit. He allegedly placed a $100 bill in front of her and told her she could “earn the money in 15 minutes.” The victim says she took the offer as being sexual and declined.
Bell allegedly began groping the woman in a sexual manner and penetrated her with his hand in front of her one and two-year old toddlers. The victim screamed and Bell left the apartment.
Ellis Bell is charged with Aggravated Sexual Battery and Two Counts of Non-aggravated Child Molestation. He remains in the Richmond County Jail.
