COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - A woman has died following a Tuesday night shooting in Columbus.
Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan said 24-year-old Jabreia Burston was pronounced dead Wednesday afternoon at Piedmont Columbus Regional, with the cause of death being ruled as a homicide.
According to police, units responded to the 1400 block of Grove Park Drive (Grove Park Apartments) shortly before 9 p.m. Tuesday, where Burston was found lying in the parking lot with multiple gunshot wounds.
Anyone with information on the Grove Park Apartments shooting and the Jabreia Burston murder is urged to call Columbus police at 706-225-4263.

UPDATE 8/28/24 9:00p.m. — The Columbus Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit is investigating Tuesday night’s deadly shooting at the Grove Park Apartments.
Tuesday around 8:55 p.m., police found the victim, 24-year-old Jabreia Burston, in the parking lot injured from being shot. Burston was taken to Piedmont Columbus Regional, where she died Wednesday at 3:15 p.m.
Police urge anyone with information on the Grove Park Apartments shooting and the Jabreia Burston murder to contact Cpl. C. Alexander at 706-225-4263 or by emailing calexander@columbusga.org.
